For the past three years in a tiny little black box in the East Village, Ashley Brockington has presented a work that digs deep into the psych of the little Black Girl. Each year three different actresses investigate their girlhoods in order to understand what it means to be a Black Woman in America. As far as we’re concerned, the world doesn’t take a huge interest in the lives of Black Women. So we decided to turn ourselves towards ourselves. The result is an honest telling of the World of Black Folk. Sometimes hilarious. Sometimes tragic. This year marks the fourth installment of Black Girl Ugly www.offoffonline.com called 2009’s Black Girl Ugly “…touching, amusing and ultimately thought provoking…”
Featuring Sokhna Heathyre Mabin , Ginger Spencer & Beatrice Anderson.

The search is on for 3 to 5 students to participate in the first ever college version of the show. Ashley is giddy and excited to see how it's all going to turn out.
